Don't worry honey, it's not what you think!

I've just discovered J- can view images from Picasa in Blogger. That fact coupled with my need to feed my widget addiction, and simplify the blogging with pictures process has motivated me to move Chaos Reins from it's comfortable LJ home.

I've also moved the computer (into the hall closet, a whole two feet - maybe- from where it was) so that I can actually sit down when I type, I'm hoping this will facilitate more frequent updates (guilty smile and a shrug directed at my mom). Hope to see you all at blogger!

Not really sure who was more surprised! Wile who ran off in the other direction as I walked past, the poor little bird who took advantage of the opportunity to fly into the laundry room (from the kitchen where Wile was preparing to make him lunch -- YUCK!) or me, who was not expecting to find a cat making himself lunch OR a little junco bird flying around my house.

Of course O- tells this story much better than I do, I'm thinking of posting her rendition to YouTube.

My favourite haircut, and it's special!

My first haircut, and it's me!

I believe that it will be much easier to pick insulation out of this do.

It was sort of spur of the moment thing. I slept through my alarm this morning and woke up feeling less than stellar, and not really up to running around getting monster #1 to school -- so she played hookey, and sometime around lunch asked when she was going to get her hair cut. This combined with the fact that Iz has been tripping and walking lately prompted me to action. So after playgroup we made a stop at island haircutters and everyone got a new do. Even me, despite J's ongoing threat that he will refuse to recognize me if I got my hair cut short. Feels different, I'll let you know if I like it in a day or two.

ew roof, new walls, and now new stairs. Soon to have new windows, new doors, and don't forget upstairs electricity and plumbing, insulation, ventilation, heating. Then a break I may have to pay back a bit before finishing, good thing I'm used to unfinished floors and wall. Soon, very soon, and I know I'll appreciate it all the more 'cause of the difficulties and conflict in creating it. Tonight though it's cold, and I'm keeping the girls in my room to ensure a closed door between me and any wildlife that may decide to explore my home during the night

storm winds pound our tyvek home

It amazes me that J often knows how bad our weather is before it's even sunk in here. Today a call to make sure we are all dry and warm. If the power did go out, and it did get cold I wonder if I would go to the neighbors, or to N's. Most likely N's her boys are friends with my girls, and she has toys, and an empty room, but ultimately it would depend on the road conditions wouldn't it. All I know for sure is that I'll fee a lot better once we get the chimney dismantled and install the new wood-stove. Maybe that'll be J's Christmas project.

	Rainbow Witch O- chose and designed her costume her very own self. A spider loving rainbow witch soon to be extremely wired on sugary treats.
	Dancing Hippo Never fell asleep, at least not while mommy was peaking.
	Snow White My phone/computer ate the pictures of Iz in her costume, but she was very excited to be Snow White. B- who was doing the downtown safe Halloween thing with us was also Snow White. Fortunately this only caused a moments confusion, as I explained that B- was Snow White in the castle, and Iz was Snow White in the woods -- good enough.
	Trick or Treat! The girls started into their treats way before they started visiting houses, and while Iz asked to ride in the buggy after a couple of blocks O hit every house to and from the firehall, only stopping to run through snakes and alligators, and bounce in bouncy castles.

If you've been wondering as to why I've been absent the last couple of weeks, well I have lots of excuses J's at sea, Baby Hey is into everything, the other two are insane, the end of my Physical Geography course is quickly coming to an end, and I'm having some serious time manage problems. My favourite excuse lately is that rain in my living room has forced me to take up J's latest projects, so what little spare time I have left has been filled dealing with carpenters, contractors, roofers, plumbers and the like. There is a LOT to learn, but progress is being made!

We're all very excited, Friday we're going to bake a cake and take a trip to Buddies Toys, and on Saturday O- and her two closest friends are going to go to the Build-a-Bear at Mafair Mall to build a bear and have a teddy bear picnic at the food court.

J- found some (unexpected) pipes being run through the attic, and I had to move a pile of my supplies out of the laundry room, and the pickles off the cupboards.

What is a girl to do when she finds the "coolest" head just screaming to be "made fancy" in the pile of stuff and the crafty (kitchen) table is, well, occupied. If we can't work on, we can work under.

Creative genius at work. Beware of glitter.

She cried off and on for almost two hours, stopping just long enough for me to decide she was settled and fine before starting up again. So not wanting to disturb a-dead-to-the-world-i-swear-she'll-sleep-through-anything Iz I finally caved and pulled her out of bed to hang out with me. Little stinker, all she wanted was a few snuggles with mom, she wasn't even interested in her bottle until I left the room to grab the next load of laundry. This is how I found her when I came back, comfortable, warm, content and fast asleep.
