moving out and moving on...

February 18th, 2008 (10:56 pm)

Don't worry honey, it's not what you think!

I've just discovered J- can view images from Picasa in Blogger. That fact coupled with my need to feed my widget addiction, and simplify the blogging with pictures process has motivated me to move Chaos Reins from it's comfortable LJ home.

My new virtual addy is  http://chaosreins.blogspot.com/

I've also moved the computer (into the hall closet, a whole two feet - maybe- from where it was) so that I can actually sit down when I type, I'm hoping this will facilitate more frequent updates (guilty smile and a shrug directed at my mom).  Hope to see you all at blogger!

valentines day

Too much excitment

Too much candy.
So many friends and so many cards.

One special box of chocolates from mom, and one very special card for Daddy when he gets home.

you know you're a parent when...

I found this by the computer this morning. Notice the pen BESIDE the toilet paper note book.

Wondering about the funny (fuzzy) look on O's face? Baby Hey is eating lemons, and LOVING them!

Look who called on Thursday begging to come home! Hmm, do you think I should let him stay, or make him sleep in the shed?

Maybe posting this picture will make me feel better -- enjoy.

(Don't forget it was raining IN my living room when he left.)

look at what the cat dragged in

November 21st, 2007 (07:34 pm)

Not really sure who was more surprised!  Wile who ran off in the other direction as I walked past, the poor little bird who took advantage of the opportunity to fly into the laundry room (from the kitchen where Wile was preparing to make him lunch -- YUCK!) or me, who was not expecting to find a cat making himself lunch OR a little junco bird flying around my house.

Of course O- tells this story much better than I do, I'm thinking of posting her rendition to YouTube.

Here is O, standing by the *door* to the master bedroom. The wall behind her is for the master bathroom, and all those windows are part of the soon to be build in library. Panorama here.

mommy can we...

November 21st, 2007 (07:12 pm)

mommy can we...
1 sick mom.
+ 2 pallets of new glittery paints (bought in a desperate attempt to amuse girls while mom spend too much time in bathroom)
+ 2 thrilled girls
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
O: "Mommy can we paint ourselves"
Mom: "No, (quick rethink, there are worse things). Yes, but in the bathroom, IN the bathTUB!

End result. 2 glittery, giggly girls who (hurray) leave one sick mommy ALONE while she makes dinner!

today's adventure: everyone gets a haircut

November 16th, 2007 (06:50 pm)

my favourite haircut, and it's special!
My favourite haircut, and it's special!
my first haircut, and it's me!
My first haircut, and it's me!

i though i was smiling but i guess it's a grimace
I believe that it will be much easier to pick insulation out of this do.

It was sort of spur of the moment thing.  I slept through my alarm this morning and woke up feeling less than stellar, and not really up to running around getting monster #1 to school -- so she played hookey, and sometime around lunch asked when she was going to get her hair cut.  This combined with the fact that Iz has been tripping and walking lately prompted me to action. So after playgroup we made a stop at island haircutters and everyone got a new do.  Even me, despite J's ongoing threat that he will refuse to recognize me if I got my hair cut short.  Feels different, I'll let you know if I like it in a day or two.
